Great Florida Birding Trail
The Great Florida Birding Trail (GFBT) is a collection of sites throughout Florida selected for their excellent birdwatching or bird education opportunities. We're heading towards a 2000-mile trail designed to conserve and enhance Florida's bird habitat by promoting birdwatching activities, environmental education and economic opportunity.

Blackwater River State Forest
Blackwater River State Forest is located in the Florida panhandle northeast of Pensacola.
One of the many outstanding features on Blackwater River State Forest is the many beautiful streams that meander throughout the forest. The most notable of these waterways are Blackwater River, Juniper Creek, Coldwater Creek and Sweetwater Creek. Canoeing on these waterways is a popular activity.
Fred Gannon Rocky Bayou State Recreation Area
Over the past few years Rocky Bayou State Park has undergone some very wonderful and exciting improvements thanks to the tireles efforts of our park staff and volunteers. Two Picnic Pavilions and a Childrens Playground have been added in the day use area. A new Campground Restroom with AC & Heat as well as modifications to all of the campsites including adding new 50 amp electrical service to 11 sites. A beautiful new Bridge crossing Puddin Head Lake offers a beautiful spot to relax and enjoy the wonderful sights and sounds of the "Real Florida". A New Camper Registration and Park Visitor Store have been added to provide visitors with amenities such as camping and fishing supplies; including bait, tackle, ice, firewood, RV Supplies, and souvenir shirts and caps.
Grayton Beach Nature Trail
A nature trail winds through a coastal forest where scrub oaks and magnolias, bent and twisted by salt winds, have an eerie "Middle Earth" look. Hikers and bicyclists can enjoy over four miles of trails through pine flatwoods; the trail begins across from the park entrance on Highway 30-A. Options for overnight stays include modern cabins and a full-facility campground.
Naval Live Oaks Trail
There are over 7.5 miles of trails including the .8 mile Breckenridge Nature Trail behind the Visitor Center. A covered picnic pavilion is available on a first come, first served basis and additional picnic tables are located nearby. Enjoy your lunch while enjoying the sparkling waters of Santa Rosa Sound!
Perdido Key State Park Trails
Barrier islands protect the Florida mainland from the harsh effects of storms and provide habitats for shorebirds and other coastal animals. Perdido Key is a 247-acre barrier island near Pensacola on the Gulf of Mexico. White sand beaches and rolling dunes covered with sea oats make this park a favorite destination
Florida Trail Association
Take a walk in the woods! With trailheads along and near major highways throughout Florida, the Florida Trail is within an hour's drive of most Florida residents and major tourist destinations.
Sweetwater Trail
The Sweetwater/Juniper Creeks Canoe Trail twists through the Blackwater River State Forest. The upper Sweetwater Creek portion is narrow, winding and fairly swift. After The trail joins Juniper Creek, curves become gentler and the current slows. Sweetwater/Juniper Creeks have tea-colored water with white sandy bottoms and wide sandbars. History records that Andrew Jackson crossed the river at Red Rock during the Seminole Wars. The canoe trail connects with Jackson Red Ground Hiking Trail.
The Jackson Red Ground Trail
Jackson Red Ground is 21.5 miles from end to end, unpaved. It is a segment of the Florida National Scenic Trail.
